Fight Corporate Monopolies on Amazon’s Promotion of Former Private Prison Executive

Washington, D.C. — Fight Corporate Monopolies released the following statement on Amazon’s promotion of Dayna Howard, former executive of private prison company Corrections Corporation of America, to become head of training for its warehouse workers.

“Congratulations to former private prison company executive Dayna Howard on her promotion to running Amazon’s warehouse worker training,” said Helen Brosnan, Executive Director of Fight Corporate Monopolies. “As earth’s most customer-centric company, Amazon will surely benefit from Howard’s extensive experience designing systems to efficiently herd and dehumanize incarcerated people at the Corrections Corporation of America and running Amazon’s security unit to stop employee theft. Remember, at Amazon, whether busting unions, treating its workers like crap, or being sued for antitrust violations, it’s always Day One.”
