Fight Corporate Monopolies Launches New Tool to Help Identify Influence of Monopolies in States

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Fight Corporate Monopolies launched a new tool for citizens, advocates, and policymakers that detail which corporations and industries have influence over their state’s politics and local economy. The Corporate Power Maps are corporate dossiers for Arizona, Iowa, Florida, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin — a one-stop resource to hold monopoly actors and their enablers accountable.

“The consequences of letting corporations grow too big and too powerful are felt deeply within so many communities,” said Helen Brosnan, Executive Director of Fight Corporate Monopolies.“So often monopoly power is at the root of many of today’s most pressing issues for working people. Small businesses are struggling, families are facing higher costs, workers are battling corporate bosses, and communities are being swindled by shoddy economic development deals. We hope this new resource helps supercharge in-state fights to take on corporate giants, inspires new concerned citizens and advocates, and puts the industry executives destroying communities on notice.”
