New Poll Shows Strong Support for Tackling Corporate Power and Highlights Key Opportunities for Harris Campaign

Washington, D.C. — Following a new poll released today, conducted by GQR and commissioned by More Perfect Union, revealing that Americans are overwhelmingly in favor of policies that challenge corporate power—including breaking up monopolies, capping drug prices, and prosecuting crypto fraud—Fight Corporate Monopolies released the following statement.

“Americans across the political spectrum are hungry for a government that stands up to corporate giants that rip them off,” said Faiz Shakir from Fight Corporate Monopolies. “This new data demonstrates that the Biden-Harris administration’s record on cracking down on big corporations is immensely popular—voters just need to hear more about it. That’s a good problem to have, and presents a prime opportunity for the Harris campaign to promote the many anti-monopoly policies of this administration, build upon these successful policies, and name and shame the real villains: corporate robber barons.”

The key findings of the poll include:

  • Over 80% of voters support government action to lower drug prices, investigate oil companies for price inflation, enforce right-to-repair rules, and ban noncompete agreements.
  • 72% of voters back the prosecution of corporate landlords using algorithmic pricing tools (like RealPage) to keep rent prices high.
  • 52% of voters have a somewhat or very unfavorable position of corporate monopolies, more unpopular than any other person or organization included in the poll.
  • Less than a third of voters are aware that the administration is already pursuing these policies.
  • 63% of voters recognize the administration’s efforts to cap insulin prices, a policy that has been prominently discussed.
  • 90% of voters support prosecuting fraud by cryptocurrency companies, with a clear preference for regulation over industry-led innovation.
